Rev. John Ntim Fordjour accuses NDC for poor WASSCE results

The Member of Parliament for Assin South and former Deputy Education Minister, Rev. Hon. John Ntim Fordjour, has attributed the challenges reflected in the latest WASSCE results to the current NDC administration.

Speaking on Okay FM on Monday, December 1, 2025, during an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, Rev. Fordjour highlighted the academic achievements of students during the NPP’s tenure.

“During our time in government, these students performed exceedingly well. They participated in competitions and won awards. Three students contested in an African quiz and excelled. Yet, the NDC accused former President Akufo-Addo of inflating grades, despite the students’ actual academic performance,” he said.

He further criticized the NDC government’s handling of the recent WASSCE results, arguing that instead of accepting responsibility, the administration is attributing the outcome to his party. He noted that the government claims that students’ abilities are now becoming visible, implying that previous grades were allegedly inflated.

Rev. Fordjour described this approach as “disappointing and unhelpful,” asserting that it undermines accountability and shifts focus away from improving education outcomes for students.

He emphasized that the current government should take full responsibility for the education results under its watch, rather than attributing successes or failures to past administrations.
