Former Minister of Health, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, led by President John Mahama, of failing to continue a single hospital project under the Agenda 111 initiative.
Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Okoe Boye called on the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, to provide a comprehensive update on the status of all Agenda 111 projects.
He noted that three hospitals commissioned by the previous NPP government remain non-operational, while 30 others — which are about 70% complete — have been abandoned.
Dr. Okoe Boye further urged the NDC government to publish a clear roadmap detailing plans to operationalise these hospitals.
The Agenda 111 initiative was launched to enhance healthcare infrastructure across Ghana. However, the alleged abandonment of the projects has raised public concern about the government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery.
The ongoing standoff between the NPP and NDC underscores the need for bipartisan collaboration to ensure the timely completion and operation of these critical health facilities.
