Former Deputy Defence Minister and MP for Atwima Kwanwoma, Kofi Amankwaa Manu, has assured that former President Nana Akufo-Addo continues to support former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and has not withdrawn his backing ahead of the NPP presidential primaries.

Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Mr. Manu emphasised that speculation suggesting otherwise is unfounded.

“Nana Addo has never stated anywhere that he has shifted his support away from Bawumia. On several occasions, he has stated categorically that Bawumia is the sole person in whom he trusts and believes can lead the NPP.” He sated, adding that, “The Nana Addo I know will never shy away from coming out clear if indeed he doesn’t support Bawumia’s candidacy, but for now, he has not made such remarks”

Mr. Manu’s comments come in the wake of growing speculation among NPP faithful that former President Akufo-Addo may have scaled back his support for Bawumia’s candidacy.

But, the Former Deputy Defence Minister  says, the Nana Addo he has known since 2006 will never withdraw his support for Bawumia

“I’ve worked with Nana Addo since 2006 and haven’t heard him anywhere saying he doesn’t support Dr. Bawumia. Forget about what people are saying about him”. The Former Deputy Defence Minister revealed.
