Police in Nyinahin, located in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, have confirmed the death of 18-year-old Gloria Addae, an employee of XI YIN HE Ghana Ltd—a Chinese-owned plywood company situated at Antwi Agyei Nkwanta.

According to the Bibiani Divisional Police Command, they received an emergency call reporting that a young woman had been rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police officers who visited the hospital were met by Madam Regina Benwah, the company’s secretary, who led them to Dr. Emmanuel Dabo, the attending medical officer. Dr. Dabo confirmed that Gloria was already deceased when brought in. His examination revealed burn marks on her chest consistent with electrocution and signs of intense pressure, but no other visible injuries or signs of violence. The body was later deposited at the hospital’s morgue.

During a follow-up examination at the morgue, police observed that Gloria’s body was lying in a supine position with a deep burn wound on her chest, appearing to be caused by contact with a hot object.

Investigators proceeded to the company’s hostel, located on the outskirts of the factory premises. A search of the deceased’s room led to the discovery of an electric iron, beneath which patches of what appeared to be human skin were found.

The body remains at the Bibiani Government Hospital morgue for preservation and a potential autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, the victim’s father, Kwaku Addae, has called for a thorough and impartial investigation. While confirming the police’s account, he expressed doubts about the circumstances surrounding his daughter’s death and urged authorities to leave no stone unturned in uncovering the truth.
