The Importers and Exporters Association of Ghana has called on the government to take pragmatic steps to resolve the ongoing dispute between the National Identification Authority (NIA) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in an amicable manner.

According to the Association, the dispute could lead to potential disruptions to critical services and have a significant impact on businesses, particularly in the maritime trade sector.

Speaking at the 11th anniversary and launch of the Association’s website in Accra, Executive Secretary Mr. Samson Asaki Awingobit emphasised the need for stronger collaboration between stakeholders, including the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Business, the Ghana Ports Authority, the GRA, and others.

This collaboration is essential to address the challenges posed by the dispute and promote a more favourable business environment.

The Association’s call emphasises the importance of finding a swift and amicable resolution to the dispute, thereby minimising its impact on businesses and the economy.

By working together, stakeholders can help ensure a stable and conducive business environment that supports economic growth and development.
