Malaria Cases rise in Kasoa Ofaako; Royal Vision Foundation Leads Free Health Screening
Residents of Kasoa Ofaako in the Awutu Senya East Municipality are grappling with a growing health concern as malaria infections continue to surge in the area.
This worrying development came to light during a free community health screening exercise organised by the Royal Vision Foundation to help residents assess their health status and receive basic medical care.
Medical Doctor Kweku Amoh of St. Jones Hospital, who participated in the exercise, stressed the urgent need for environmental cleanliness and good personal hygiene to help curb the spread of malaria.
He noted that mosquito breeding sites continue to fuel infections in the community.
“We advise residents to keep their surroundings clean, eliminate stagnant water, and prioritise personal hygiene to reduce the risk of infection,” Dr Amoh told Nana Ansah during the event. “Malaria is preventable, and community participation is key.”
Founder of the Royal Vision Foundation, Queen Abena Sika, said the outreach forms part of the organisation’s long-term commitment to promoting health and wellness in underserved communities.
“This is not a one-day event, but a continuous effort. We want to spread across communities to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Ghanaians,” she stated.
Several residents who benefited from the screening expressed gratitude to the foundation for the free health intervention. They also encouraged fellow community members to take their health seriously by scheduling regular check-ups to assess their health status.
The Royal Vision Foundation states that it will extend similar initiatives to other communities in the coming months as part of its mission to enhance public health awareness and promote early medical detection.
