The Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, confirmed early Tuesday that President John Dramani Mahama’s official X account (@JDMahama) had been hacked.

The breach was detected on Sunday when the account was used to promote a cryptocurrency scam linked to Solanafrica, a fraudulent project that falsely claimed to be “led by Ghana’s President John Mahama to make payments across Africa free using the Solana blockchain.” The token has since been rug-pulled, causing losses for investors.

However, on Tuesday at 10:30 AM, the president announced on his official X account that, it had been restored via the X support team.

“My team has restored my account, working with the X support team. Thank you for your enquiries and offers to assist.” The post read.
